Impreza Rear Subframe

$2,000.00$2,450.00

A major problem when lowering a vehicles center of gravity is that most teams do not consider how this affects the factory wheel geometry and roll centers.
Mooresport was the 1st company, outside of Prodrive, to offer a commercially available alternative suited specifically for the motorsport marketplace and professional teams. A change in the vehicles ride height can drastically affect the path a wheel will take through the range of suspension travel. Camber and toe can vary to point that the car goes from over-steer, to under-steer characteristics in a mere 3mm of wheel travel. MooreSport was the first aftermarket manufacturer to address this handling issue with all Subaru Impreza’s that use McPherson struts in the rear by developing a rear Subframe that corrects suspension geometry on lowered vehicles (up to 2″ with factory fuel tanks in place on ALL of our units as of June 2011.) and uses OEM mounting points. We also were the first that allowed the use of OEM Lateral links with bushings.

Description

Our Subframe is manufactured using the latest technology in CNC Tube cutting as well as mandrel bending. Each unit coming off the production line is assembled in a heavy duty jig, and is then verified in a separate jig after stress relief is completed over a 24 hour cool down period. Each frame now comes with a CNC machined billet aluminum differential mount as of June 2011. We use FLURO stainless steel motorsport bearings for the differential installation. The mount is made from Billet T6-6061 grade aluminum, and mounts from the underside. This allows the removal of the differential separately from the frame which is not possible with our competitors units, or our previous versions. A major consideration for rally racers as well that frequently require rear-end changes. As an added benefit to correct wheel geometry, our unique design will eliminate significant amounts of chassis flex in the rear end, differential knocking under hard acceleration or shifts, as well as variances in wheel alignments due to bushings changing location, flex, or deformation.
Our tubular Subaru Subframe assemblies will benefit any street or race car with coil-over suspension systems. The MooreSport Subframe is lighter than the factory assembly by 40%, while increasing the rigidity and consistency of the rear suspension system beyond what is commonly seen in the North American marketplace. Average weight (depending on options) has now been reduced to under 16 lbs compared to the 30 lbs of an OEM unit. However, for pure Motorsport or off-road usage, there are a few extra brackets and options available to increase torsional resistance, as well as custom geometry options available as well. All of our subframes are bead blasted, then coated with a high grade flexible epoxy primer. Finish powder coating is baked on at low temperatures to avoid distortion of the frame. This is a more expensive 2 step painting process that is unique to MooreSport, and included in all of our frames.
*** PLEASE NOTE THAT DEPENDING YEAR / MODEL FUEL TANKS ON OEM APPLICATIONS, SMALL INDENTATIONS MAY BE REQUIRED IN THE FUEL TANK. THE REMOVAL OF THE SPARE WHEEL BRACKET ON THE UNDERSIDE MAY BE REQUIRED AS WELL. PLEASE INQUIRE WITH OUR TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR MORE INFORMATION. THIS INSTALLATION SHOULD ONLY BE DONE BY TRAINED PROFESSIONALS AND IS NOT MEANT FOR DIY ENTHUSIASTS. A COMPLETE 4-WHEEL ALIGNMENT WILL ALSO BE REQUIRED ***
